The kids also went to their first Royals game when our cousins Nicole and Tyler were in town, and they had a blast! It was over a hundred degrees at the game (or at least it felt like it!), but they didn't seem to mind. We kept them well hydrated with snow cones. :)
Finally, on July 12th we moved in to our house. It has been quite the process of unpacking, and we still aren't finished, but the major stuff is unpacked and organized, and we are slowly painting and doing small changes to the house. I'm sure it will always be a work in progress! We love our house, and are really enjoying it!
We have a lake, a pool, and a park for the kids about a block from our house. We have spent a ton of time there this summer! We usually walk around the lake every morning and then head to the park for a bit before it gets too hot. I'm excited for when the weather cools off a bit this fall so we can have picnics by the lake. I don't have any pics of the lake yet, but here is our favorite park. We love all the wide open spaces around here. So peaceful!
In early August before Luke started work, we took a trip to Hays, KS to visit my family, and stayed at my grandparents' farm. We saw all my aunts, uncles, and cousins that we hadn't seen in awhile and had so much fun. It was wonderful catching up with everyone and introducing them to Hannah. Noah and Hannah had their first tractor rides, and we had an outdoor hot dog roast, which was great!
A couple weeks ago, we celebrated Noah's 3rd birthday. Grandma Sue came to visit to help us celebrate, and the kids had a blast playing with her and showing her their new house. Noah had a great birthday! He wanted a monster truck cake, and he is loving all his new toys. He can't wait to try out his new fishing pole and paddle boat in our neighborhood lake.
To finish out our crazy summer, we headed to St. Louis over labor day weekend to get together with my college/grad school friends Kristin and Sandy. Between the 3 of us, we have 5 kids under 5, and we all stayed at Kristin's house, so it was a crazy weekend. The kids had SO much fun, and Noah keeps asking to go back and see all his friends. We went apple picking on Saturday, and then to the Zoo on Sunday. It was great getting to spend time all together! It was the first time we have all gotten together since we had kids. It was a great way to finish out the summer.
Overall, it has been a crazy summer, but wonderful. We are so happy we moved, and I am loving getting to spend more time at home with the kids. My pregnancy is going well, and we are still expecting our new little addition in January 2015. Our Autumn will hopefully be a little more low-key than our summer, but I'm sure we'll make time to squeeze in a visit to the pumpkin patch and other fun fall activities. Stay tuned for more of our adventures.......................
